Partida Terms of Use

These Terms govern the use of Partida, available at https://www.partida.live. By generating a video, you declare that you have read and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Notice.

1. Who operates Partida

Partida is operated by Eduardo Lima de Almeida Worrel Consultoria em Tecnologia da Informação, Individual Entrepreneur, Micro-enterprise, registered under CNPJ No. 51.279.125/0001-33, with its head office at Rua Visconde de Pirajá, 414, room 718, Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro/RJ, ZIP code 22410-905, Brazil.

2. The service

Partida turns a chess game into a narrated audiovisual production. The service may include PGN validation, computer analysis of the positions, selection of relevant moments, script generation with the aid of artificial intelligence, voice synthesis, board animation and video rendering. Depending on the option chosen, the video may cover the full game or be a short video derived from it — excerpts and summaries with the decisive moves ("highlights"), a challenge about the final move ("puzzle") or the accelerated game with the outcome explained ("lightning miniature"); some of these variations require specific characteristics of the game, indicated before production. The default delivery is playback of the production in the browser, in chapters; the video file can be generated upon your request.

Partida also offers a live narration experience: official tournament broadcasts can be followed with automated narration, generated in real time from the public moves of the broadcast itself, with computer analysis and voice synthesis. Watching the live narration is free of charge and does not require an account. The live narration is automated, without real-time human review, may contain inaccuracies and does not constitute an official broadcast of the organizer, an official federation analysis or advice to a participant in an ongoing game.

The applicable characteristics, duration, format, resolution and watermark will be presented before the production. During the free phase of the pilot, no amount is charged.

During the pilot:

  • visitors without an account may generate a demo, subject to technical limits — such as the number of moves in the game — and deletion within 48 hours;
  • users with an account may generate free productions with a watermark, according to the offer displayed and the technical limits in force;
  • customer videos are private or unlisted by default;
  • an unlisted page may be accessed by anyone who receives its link or QR code;
  • productions generated by users are not published on Partida's YouTube channel; the channel publishes the videos that Partida itself produces from public broadcasts and, when the organizer expressly contracts this option, live streams of tournaments on Partida's channel (sections 9 and 9.2).

3. Who can use Partida

Anyone can watch public content and generate narrated videos of chess games without signing up. People under 18 may use Partida with the knowledge of a parent or legal guardian. The account is optional and serves to gather and re-access your productions.

By generating a video or creating an account, you declare that:

  • you accept these Terms;
  • you have provided correct information;
  • you may legitimately provide the PGN and other materials submitted;
  • you will not use Partida to violate the rights of third parties.

Partida may adopt additional protective measures when it identifies content relating to children or adolescents.

4. Submission of games and materials

You may submit your own game or a third party's. The factual sequence of moves will be analyzed and will receive Partida's own script, graphics, voice and editing.

You must not submit, without applicable authorization:

  • protected third-party comments, annotations or scripts;
  • audio or video from broadcasts;
  • protected photographs, music, logos or artwork;
  • data obtained through improper access, account breach or circumvention of technical restrictions;
  • false, defamatory, unlawful content or content intended to harass someone.

Names and usernames present in the PGN or typed by you may appear in the video. You must review this information and may request its replacement with generic identifiers.

You may optionally add one photo for each player. By doing so, you represent that you hold a sufficient license or other right in the file and the applicable authorization to use the depicted person's image in that production. If the photo depicts a child or adolescent, you represent that you have authorization from their legal guardian and that the use serves the minor's best interests. Uploading a photo does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or partnership by the depicted person.

5. Artificial intelligence and accuracy

The script and narration are created with the aid of third-party artificial intelligence systems, listed at https://www.partida.live/fornecedores. When the narration needs to mention them, the players' names, the event and other game data are sent to these providers, both to generate the text and to synthesize the premium voice. We do not send e-mail, account data or photos.

Although Partida uses chess analysis and automated checks, the video may contain inaccuracies of language, interpretation or editing. The content is a narrative production and does not constitute an official federation assessment, proof of cheating or professional advice.

Partida will not knowingly attribute invented statements to the players nor use the video to accuse anyone of fraud or cheating.

6. Production and delivery

Delivery may occur through playback in the browser, through the availability of a file for download, or both, as presented in the offer. Processing is asynchronous and depends on third-party computing services. The displayed turnaround is an estimate, not a guarantee of completion at an exact time.

If a failure occurs:

  • Partida may retry at no cost;
  • an uncompleted order will not be considered delivered.

You are responsible for downloading and keeping the file during the availability period informed. In the free phase, productions have automatic deletion deadlines informed in the offer, such as the deletion of anonymous demos within 48 hours and of free productions of users with an account within 7 days.

7. Free of charge during this phase of the pilot

In this phase of the pilot, Partida is offered free of charge. There is no sale, charge, payment or refund. If a paid offer is launched, these Terms will be updated and a Payments and Refunds Policy will be published before any charge.

8. Rights over the video

Partida remains the owner of its software, code, brand, pipeline, templates, layouts, base animations, tools and know-how.

You keep the rights you hold over the submitted materials. Between you and Partida, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • you may use, reproduce, publish and monetize the final video generated for you;
  • Partida grants a worldwide, perpetual and royalty-free license over the video elements it is able to license;
  • this authorization does not transfer third-party rights nor guarantee exclusivity over generic or automatically generated elements;
  • you may not separately extract and resell voice, template, pieces, effects, code or other components of the service;
  • the free version must retain the watermark;
  • Partida will not use a private video in advertising or portfolio without specific authorization.

You grant Partida a limited license to receive, process, store, crop, resize, convert, embed in the video, display and deliver the materials solely to operate the service. For unlisted videos, this license includes displaying them to whoever holds the link while it remains active. This license ends when the project is deleted, except for the final file already delivered, copies shared by the user and minimum records needed for legal compliance and the exercise of rights.

9. Public content, YouTube channel and removal

Productions generated by users are private or unlisted and are not published by Partida on its YouTube channel or in any other public space. The sole exception is the live stream that the organizer expressly contracts for Partida's channel, which is governed by section 9.2. Other publishing features, if any, will depend on an express choice and may have additional rules.

Partida maintains a YouTube channel on which it automatically publishes narrated videos of games from public tournament broadcasts, chosen by Partida itself through automated curation — for example, wins by Brazilian players, upsets and games by top players. These videos use the moves, names, federations, events and results that are public in the official broadcast, with Partida's own script, voice and images.

Any person identified in a video, including on the channel, may request review, correction or removal through the channel [email protected]. Requests involving minors, safety risk, improper exposure or apparent violation will be prioritized.

9.1 Streams on the organizer's channel (pilot)

With "Stream on my channel", Partida produces, on our infrastructure, a narrated live stream of a tournament published on Lichess and sends it to the channel you choose, using the stream key you provide. By using it, you represent that:

  • the channel is yours or you are authorized by whoever controls it, and you have the right to stream the event (including towards the organizer and the players);
  • you are solely responsible for the channel, the live created on it, its title and description, and compliance with the rules of YouTube or the destination platform.

Narration is generated by artificial intelligence (script, engine analysis and synthetic voice) and may contain inaccuracies. The "via partida.live" mark and the Lichess data credit (CC BY-SA 4.0 license) stay on screen and may not be removed. The stream key is stored encrypted, never shown again and used only for this purpose; you can revoke it at any time in YouTube Studio. Partida may refuse, interrupt or end a stream at any time, including for capacity limits, technical failure, a request from a player or organizer, or misuse. During the pilot the feature is free, limited to invited accounts and offered without availability guarantees; we record each stream's duration for operational purposes and future billing, which will only apply after you accept new terms.

9.2 Streams on Partida's channel

When you contract a stream for Partida's channel (which consumes 30% fewer credits per hour), you choose the tournament and the format, and Partida publishes the live stream on Partida's YouTube channel, without using your stream key. Under this option:

  • the title, description, thumbnail, privacy and other settings of the live stream are defined by Partida, which identifies the stream as contracted by the organizer, without suggesting sponsorship or endorsement by the players;
  • the recording may remain on Partida's channel after the live stream, and Partida may edit it, remove it or make it private at any time;
  • you represent that you have the right to stream the event, including towards the organizer and the players, and the necessary authorizations where minors are involved;
  • Partida may refuse or end the stream, including due to the channel's slot limits, because it involves youth categories, or at the request of a player or organizer;
  • there is no guarantee of audience, search ranking or recommendation;
  • where there is sponsorship or payment that requires it, the live stream is flagged on YouTube as containing paid promotion;
  • the lower consumption rate applies only to streams on Partida's channel.

Requests for correction or removal of these streams follow section 9 and the Content, Rights and Removal Policy.

9.3 Streams embedded on your website

With the "On my website" option, Partida generates an embed key and a code (iframe) that shows the live board — and, depending on the tier, the captions and the narration — inside a website of yours. By using it, you declare that:

  • you are responsible for the website where the player is embedded and for the domains you authorize on the key; Partida only allows the player to be displayed on those domains and may block domains used improperly;
  • you will not remove, hide or alter the "via partida.live" mark or the Lichess data credit (CC BY-SA 4.0 license) shown in the player;
  • the key consumes credits only while at least one person is watching the player, at the website rate of the Payments and Refunds Policy; many people watching at the same time consume the same as one;
  • when your balance is running low, we notify you on your dashboard; once the balance and the grace period are exhausted, the player shows the stream as paused until credits are available again;
  • the narration audio only starts after a click by the viewer, as browsers require; the player uses no cookies and no third-party analytics tools (Privacy Notice);
  • Partida may suspend or revoke the key for misuse, attempts to circumvent metering, excessive requests or breach of these Terms, and may change the player's appearance to keep it working.

9.4 Sponsor logos

In broadcasts (sections 9.1 to 9.3) the organizer may display up to 4 logos of event sponsors, in the bottom band of the live stream and in the footer of the embedded player. The organizer declares they have the right to use these marks and is responsible for them before their owners. Logos are stored and served by Partida (never loaded from third-party sites), converted to PNG without metadata, and SVG files with active or external content are rejected. Partida may remove any logo that infringes third-party rights, the law or these Terms; Partida's and Lichess's branding and credit remain visible.

10. Prohibited uses

It is prohibited to use Partida to:

  • harass, threaten, embarrass or defame;
  • publicly accuse someone of cheating;
  • impersonate a player, narrator, club, federation or organizer;
  • suggest a nonexistent sponsorship, partnership or endorsement;
  • imitate or clone the voice of a real person without authorization;
  • improperly expose children or adolescents;
  • infringe copyright, image, name, voice, trademark or privacy rights;
  • circumvent limits, automate abuse or compromise the security of the service;
  • generate illegal content or content contrary to fundamental rights.

Partida may suspend a production, restrict a link or refuse content when there is reasonable indication of a violation, preserving applicable consumer rights.

11. Availability and liability

Partida will seek to offer the service with security and quality, but may experience unavailability, maintenance or supplier failure. No provision of these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Brazilian law.

Partida is not liable for unlawful use of the video made by the user, for materials submitted without authorization or for changes made by third parties after download, without prejudice to its own legal liability for operating the service.

12. Privacy

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Notice. Partida adopts minimization — each provider receives only what its task requires — and retention periods compatible with the service.

13. Changes

These Terms may be updated to reflect changes in the product or in the law. Relevant changes will be informed before they take effect on new submissions or contracts. The version accepted at each submission will remain on record.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

Brazilian law applies. In consumer relations, the legally competent forum is preserved, including that of the consumer's domicile. For disputes that are not consumer-related and that admit choice of forum, the forum of the Judicial District of Rio de Janeiro/RJ is elected.
